Hospice

I have called the hospice team. Not because I am immediately dying (though I could) but for the help they can give us with this process. I think until now I have been sort of in denial of sorts. Oh I know I am fading but now I need help with fading. I will be staying at home for this part of the journey.

Our daughter has been here helping  for a week - it has been great.  There are just so many tasks I can no longer do.  All our kids have been great - checking in - offering to do things.

But time for more intensive care.

Friend visits are cut down to about 5 minutes with no wearing of scents!

Anyway -- just to let you all know where I am.

I was caught by surprise, and have now carefully read your recent blog postings.

I am thankful for having had the opportunity to hear and digest your words, gentleness, and spiritual support over these years of shared online friendship.

May your days ahead be securely gathered with cherished loved ones in the Light and provide comfort and joy to you in your passage. Peace. (Sharon)

Hello Ann. I, too, like you friend, faithful, am only catching up on what had been happening in your life. I can't imagine the depth the many emotions you must be experiencing. I can only say that I am so pleased that our paths crossed. I shall always remember you, your smile and our discussion of the bishop from Nevada, Katherine Jefferts-Schori. That was a great ride that day. I hope this journey back to God will be full of hope and serenity, to counter the sadness of leaving. I can imagine the grief of leaving as i know the grief of have been left by those I love. I am thankful that all relationships are wakan and therefore eternal. Much love to you, my sister. Ann, a huge step but a good one. You have been very much in my thoughts and prayers as I have followed your telling of your life. You of course, will remain in my thoughts and prayers as will your family as you begin a healing helping piece of life.

But who will be the local lifeguard now?

For someone who writes diatribes as much as I do, I shouldn't be at a loss for words. I'm glad K can be there with you both.
